Muhamad Ridhwan’s star continues to rise after a hard-fought victory at Roar of Singapore IV on 20th April 2018.
In front of a crowd of 4,000 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, The Chosen Wan stood strong against the heavy hands of Jeson “Dynamite Fist” Umbal, outworking the Filipino power puncher as the fight went the distance.
Ridhwan would eventually claim the win via majority decision (117-111, 116-112, 114-114) to add the IBO intercontinental super featherweight belt to his growing collection of titles.
Ridhwan now has his sights set on the IBO world featherweight title; the biggest prize he’s had within his reach so far. He’ll face the winner of the bout between the Philippines’ Jhack Tepora and Mexico’s Edivaldo Ortega (which takes place on July 15) sometime in September.
Earlier, the home crowd had another win to savour as super flyweight Fash “The Face” Kamarudin scored a TKO win over Thailand’s Sumalee Tongpootorn in her professional debut.
All in all, it was a great night for Southeast Asian boxing, with Malaysia’s “Miracle” Mirage Khan picking up the WBC Asia continental light heavyweight title via unanimous decision over New Zealand’s Chase “Hellboy” Haley.
Michael “Hot & Spicy” Dasmarinas of the Philippines provided the highlight of the event as he knocked out Frenchman Karim Guerfi to secure the IBO bantamweight world title.
