Geylang Bazaar Ramadhan 2018 | Singapore Street Photography

Whether it’s concerns about the eye-watering cost of renting a stall, lamentations about “hipsterisation”, or simply the odd complaint about crowds and the heat, the Geylang Serai bazaar can’t seem to get much good publicity.

While some grumbles are not without basis, we know that these things can get blown out proportion. Far from the headlines, the bazaar represents many of Singapore’s best traits and brings people from different demographics together.

Here, photographer Kurt Ganapathy captures the food, lights, crowd and overall good vibes at the bazaar.
