Exploring Chinatown on Chinese New Year 2018 | Singapore in Pictures

Perhaps more than any other district, Chinatown represents what Singapore is all about. Wherever you look, there’s a collision of the ancient and the modern; the sacred and the profane; and the time-honoured and the touristy.

But beyond the trendy bars and restaurants or the landmarks that are considered irreplaceable heritage by some and eyesores by others, it’s the people in Chinatown that ensure the enclave retains its vitality. And the best time to see that vitality? Chinese New Year (CNY), of course.
