Description
GREEN-HOUSE returns from 28 to 30 August 2026 for its landmark fifth edition, introducing its first-ever day-to-night festival experience.
For the first time, the festival will extend its opening hours until 10pm and join the Singapore Night Festival programme, with one of its immersive installations featured as part of the wider festival.

Free to attend, this year’s edition continues to bring together Singapore’s leading sustainable brands, experiences and communities under one roof.
Anchoring this milestone edition is the festival’s 2026 theme, Don’t Waste A Good Time, built on the belief that meaningful change happens through experiences people genuinely enjoy.

The theme arrives at a pivotal moment as Singapore reviews and rethinks its Zero Waste Masterplan. While sustainability has increasingly entered the mainstream conversation, shifting the conversation beyond awareness towards everyday behaviours that can collectively make a meaningful difference, remains a challenge.

Singapore’s overall recycling rate slipped to 52% in 2025, still short of the national target of 70% by 2030, while Semakau Landfill is projected to reach capacity around 2035.
At the same time, Singlife’s Sustainable Future Index found that seven in 10 Singaporeans say sustainability matters to them, but only three in 10 consistently act on it.
A six-course menu made entirely from food waste
One area where this shift is especially relevant is food waste. Singapore generates
close to 750,000 tonnes of food waste each year, with less than one-fifth recycled.
Much of it begins at home, before cooking even starts, in the peels, grounds and
heels that get thrown out without a second thought.

Responding to this, GREEN-HOUSE 2026 co-curates Eat Your Scraps! with food
design unit Nottofu, built around a simple idea: the most overlooked ingredient in
the kitchen is often the one about to be discarded.

Visitors experience a six-course menu where every dish starts from something usually binned, from vegetable peels and spent coffee grounds in the starters, to prawn shells and citrus peels in the mains, right down to a dessert made from banana peels and bread heels.
Take-home recipe cards carry the idea past the festival, turning a tasting into something visitors can actually cook again.
