More than 30 curated brands come together at the National Museum of Singapore from 10 to 18 October 2026 for a market celebrating the everyday objects we make, use and live with.

The Living Archive 2026 transforms the National Museum of Singapore into a marketplace for contemporary objects, craftsmanship and the stories behind familiar things.

Running for nine days from 10 to 18 October, the curated market brings together more than 30 brands spanning ceramics, stationery, accessories, art, homeware and food.

Visitors can also watch makers at work through a series of live craft stations and demonstrations, while a refreshed brand line-up from 14 October gives repeat visitors something different to discover during the second half of the event.

A Market About Everyday Objects

Rather than focusing solely on shopping, The Living Archive looks at the craft, creativity and stories behind the objects that become part of everyday life.

That idea runs through the selection of ceramics, stationery, textiles, home goods, art and food, as well as the live stations that allow visitors to see how some of these objects are made.

Our Take

The Living Archive is an interesting addition to the National Museum because it takes something extremely ordinary — the objects we surround ourselves with — and encourages visitors to think about the people and processes behind them.

The mix of shopping and live craft demonstrations should also make this more engaging than a conventional retail market. Even if you do not plan to buy anything, watching makers demonstrate their craft provides another reason to explore the event.

Its nine-day run is another advantage. With the brand selection changing from 14 October, visitors interested in local design and independent makers could even find something new on a second visit.
