Support independent creators and explore original illustrations, crafts, anime art and fan-made merchandise when Artcade 2026 lands at Suntec Convention Centre.

Singapore’s artist-run Artcade will transform Suntec Convention Hall 404 into a sprawling creative marketplace on 26 and 27 September 2026.

The free-admission event welcomes illustrators, craft makers and creators of original and fan-made works. Its extensive floor plan contains 148 listed booth spaces, with some booths shared by two or three independent artists.

Visitors can shop directly from creators, admire different artistic styles, take photographs and attend in family-friendly cosplay. A photobooth, activities corner and event goodie bags add to the weekend experience.

Explore 148 Creator Booths

The published event map comprises five booth zones with 148 listed spaces collectively occupied by illustrators, ceramicists, crafters and independent merchandise designers.

As several booths represent collaborations between multiple artists, the actual number of participating creators is even larger than the booth count suggests.

Expect a broad range of prints, stickers, keychains, charms, handmade accessories, ceramics, stationery and character-inspired creations. Both original artwork and fan art are welcomed at Artcade, giving visitors an opportunity to discover independent creative worlds alongside familiar pop-culture influences.

Enter a Cosmic Beginning

The theme for Artcade 2026 is A Cosmic Beginning, an imaginative journey inspired by the birth of the universe and the first spark of a creative idea.

The concept celebrates the emergence of colour, sound, movement and imaginary worlds while inviting artists and visitors to consider what they might create next.

Rather than functioning as a tightly curated gallery exhibition, the event allows this theme to connect a wide variety of independent practices under one playful cosmic identity.

Attend in Family-Friendly Cosplay

Cosplayers are welcome to attend and take photographs inside the event, provided that their outfits remain family-friendly and safe for the venue.

The organiser does not permit overtly revealing costumes, military cosplay or realistic, sharp and excessively bulky weapon props. Visitors planning elaborate outfits should read the latest event guidelines before travelling.

Filming and livestreaming are permitted, but visitors should obtain permission from individual creators before recording their booths, artwork or merchandise.

Visit the Activities Corner and Photobooth

Beyond browsing the creator booths, visitors can stop at the event’s photobooth and activities corner near the back of the hall.

Official goodie bags will also be available from designated counters outside and inside Suntec Convention Hall 404, subject to availability and the organiser’s purchase arrangements.

Anyone intending to explore the complete market should arrive well before the final entry time. The large number of booths makes this an event worth approaching as a creative afternoon rather than a quick shopping stop.

Support Singapore’s Independent Creators

Artcade was founded by local artists who wanted to create an inclusive space where original creations and fan art could be celebrated equally.

The independent initiative held its first event at GR.iD in 2022 before expanding to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. It subsequently moved into its largest venue at Suntec Convention Centre.

Buying directly from a participating creator supports the time spent developing their illustrations, products and artistic practice. Visitors should respect each artist’s photography rules and avoid reproducing or commercially using their work without permission.

Our Take

Artcade 2026 is far more substantial than its description as a “small artist-run art market” might imply.

Its enormous creator lineup makes it one of September’s strongest destinations for anyone interested in illustration, anime, character art and handmade goods. Free admission also makes the event approachable for younger visitors who want to experience an artist alley without committing to the ticket price of a major convention.

Go for the anime and fan-made merchandise, but leave enough time to discover original characters and creations that may not yet have a large following.
