Enter Singapore’s historic underground command centre after dark as Bunker By Night 2026 transforms the Battlebox into a multi-room world of sound, movement and unexpected encounters.
Hidden beneath Fort Canning Park, the Battlebox has witnessed voices, signals, machinery, footsteps, urgent instructions and long periods of silence. This August, artists will return to those underground chambers and imagine how their sounds might have evolved along an entirely different timeline.
Bunker By Night 2026 takes place on 28 and 29 August as part of the Singapore Night Festival. Produced by Global Cultural Alliance in collaboration with ThirdSpace Sessions by SAtheCollective, the programme brings eight artistic acts into the Battlebox across two distinct evenings.
Titled Sounds Within the Walls of the Battlebox, this experimental encounter does not attempt to reconstruct the bunker’s wartime soundscape literally. Instead, participating artists respond to the location through contemporary sound, performance, movement and immersive encounters.

Highlights of Bunker By Night 2026
Explore the Battlebox after dark: Experience one of Singapore’s most atmospheric historic spaces after regular visiting hours as its underground rooms become settings for experimental performances and artistic encounters.
Discover a multi-room arts experience: Rather than presenting one conventional stage performance, Bunker By Night invites visitors to move through the Battlebox and encounter different sounds, artists and creative responses within its chambers.
Attend the first night: The programme on Friday, 28 August runs from 8pm to 11pm and features Dirk Stromberg, Lattice, MASMA DREAM WORLD, and VYLT & FALLING ISLANDS.
Return for a different second night: Saturday’s programme runs from 8pm to 10pm with performances and encounters by Natalie & Marla, Gelap, SGStingray, and Zihao & Ng Zuyou.
Experience art shaped by its location: The Battlebox is more than a dramatic backdrop. Its confined rooms, layered history and distinctive acoustics become integral parts of how audiences experience the programme.
Our Take on Bunker By Night
Bunker By Night is one of the more unconventional experiences in the Singapore Night Festival programme. Instead of admiring an outdoor installation or watching a performance from a fixed seat, visitors enter a historic space and discover how contemporary artists have responded to the memories contained within it.
The two nights feature completely different line-ups and running times, so audiences should choose their preferred programme carefully—or attend both evenings for the full artistic experience.
Visitors should also come prepared for the conditions of the venue. Admission is restricted to guests aged 18 and above, there are no bathrooms inside the Battlebox, and the underground site is not wheelchair accessible.
