Weish is a multidisciplinary artist who successfully bridges the worlds of music, education, and theatre. Renowned for her work in bands like .gif and Sub:shaman, she gained significant acclaim as a playwright and composer by drawing directly from her professional background as an educator.
Before her full-time career in the arts, she spent six years as a literature teacher in secondary school. Her time in the classroom exposed her to the hard truths within the education system, ranging from the pressures of meritocracy to the emotional bonds formed with students.
Her first major work as a playwright, Secondary: The Musical, was produced by Checkpoint Theatre in 2024. After winning Production of the Year in 2025 at the ST Life Theatre Awards, the play returns for its 2026 staging from 9 to 26 April.
