Explore live music, art, design, food and community experiences as more than 60 creative brands come together for the New Bahru Open House 2026.

Two years after opening within the former Nan Chiau High School campus, New Bahru is celebrating its growing creative community by turning the entire River Valley lifestyle cluster into one enormous block party.

New Bahru Open House 2026 takes place on 29 and 30 August with live music on the Lawn, an art-and-design exhibition-marketplace, workshops, guided heritage tours, wellness sessions and special experiences from the brands that call the development home.

Visitors can wander through the former school and garment-factory buildings, discover independent Singapore businesses and participate in activities ranging from clothing customisation and painting to social table tennis and sound healing.

New Bahru Open House 2026 Highlights

Dance at the Garden Party: GrooveTop takes over the Lawn from 2pm to 8pm on Saturday with funk, soul, R&B, house and disco selections from Aurora, AKA Sounds, KFC and Ya5th. The open-air party is free and requires no ticket.

Spend Sunday with Field Notes: Sunday’s Lawn programme combines a live set by Haneri, Sing Song Social Club’s musical chairs and a DJ sing-along with Wild Pearl before a roving DJ session closes the evening.

Explore the IN-BETWEEN creative playground: More than 50 artists, designers and makers gather in the School Hall for an exhibition-marketplace featuring experimental showcases, performances and interactive experiences from 28 to 30 August.

Discover New Bahru’s history: The Urbanist Singapore leads a new two-hour heritage tour through the former school campus and garment factory, uncovering stories connected to the buildings and their changing uses.

Customise something of your own: Bring clothing or another personal item to The Stamp Buffet and decorate it using original designs by local artist tobyato and Beyond The Vines.

Try something unexpected: The wider programme includes temporary tattoos inspired by Singapore’s lottery culture, painting workshops, sound-healing sessions, tea tastings, strength assessments, social table tennis and a pull-up or dead-hang challenge.

Our Take on New Bahru Open House

New Bahru Open House is more than an anniversary promotion for a lifestyle development. Its programme reflects the creative ecosystem that has gradually formed within the former school campus, bringing together designers, musicians, artists, chefs, wellness practitioners and independent retailers.

The freedom to wander is central to the experience. Visitors can dance on the Lawn, browse work by emerging creatives, learn about the site’s history and stumble upon smaller activities within the different blocks without following one rigid itinerary.

Much of the main programme is free and available on a walk-in basis. However, IN-BETWEEN, heritage tours, workshops and certain limited-capacity experiences require separate registration or paid tickets, so visitors should check individual listings before arriving.

Programme hours also vary considerably. Activities begin as early as 7am, the central daytime celebrations generally run until 8pm, and selected nightlife experiences continue later in the evening.
