Music and visual art meet at Sounds of Singapore 2026, an original concert experience presented by Ars Nova Ensemble and Strings & Things Collective.
Audiences can hear original compositions and familiar arrangements by local composers while an in-house visual artist presents bespoke artwork created to bring the music to life.
The production celebrates Singapore’s emerging creative voices through music and imagery developed entirely through human expression—from their initial conception to the live performance.
Sounds of Singapore 2026 Highlights
Music by Singapore Composers
Discover original works and arrangements showcasing the voices of Singapore’s next generation of composers.
Live Performance by Ars Nova Ensemble
Ars Nova Ensemble returns with another of its signature audio-visual experiences, combining live instrumental performance with visual storytelling.
Bespoke Visual Artwork
An in-house visual artist will accompany the music with specially created artwork that interprets and expands upon the compositions.
A Human-Made Production
Both the music and artwork have been created through authentic human expression, without generative artificial intelligence from conception to stage.
An Intimate Esplanade Setting
The 90-minute performance takes place inside Esplanade Recital Studio, offering audiences a close and focused encounter with the ensemble’s music and accompanying artwork.
Where Sound Meets Sight
Rather than treating the visual presentation as a decorative backdrop, Sounds of Singapore incorporates artwork as part of the concert experience. Each visual response gives audiences another way to encounter the stories, ideas and emotions carried by the music.
The programme also creates a platform for local composers to share new works with audiences in a professional concert setting while introducing listeners to different expressions of contemporary Singapore music.
For audiences interested in homegrown music, chamber performance and multidisciplinary art, the production offers an opportunity to experience all three within a single evening at Esplanade.
