Lights by the Lake 2026 transforms Jurong Lake Gardens into an illuminated Mid-Autumn celebration filled with larger-than-life lanterns, light shows, performances and family activities.
Visitors can follow scenes from The Legend of the White Snake across Lakeside Field before discovering displays inspired by Chang’e, the Jade Rabbit, Princess Kaguya and other moonlit legends.
The main festival runs from 19 to 27 September 2026, while its lantern displays will continue illuminating Lakeside Garden, Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden until 4 October.

The Legend of the White Snake
Follow five lantern scenes tracing the story of white snake spirit Bai Suzhen and scholar Xu Xian, from their fateful meeting to their separation at the hands of the monk Fa Hai.
Lanterns Across Three Gardens
Explore larger-than-life displays spread across Lakeside Garden, Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden from 19 September to 4 October.
Moonlit Legends and Symbols
Look out for illuminated interpretations of Chang’e and the Jade Rabbit in Chinese Garden, followed by Princess Kaguya and shimmering koi displays in Japanese Garden.
Cultural and Family Programmes
Enjoy live performances, storytelling sessions, exhibitions, guided experiences, hands-on activities, Hanfu dress-up and an LED lion dance during the festival.
NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra
Catch a free opening-night concert at Ficus Lawn on 19 September, featuring Mandopop and English favourites from across the decades.
A Lantern Trail Through Three Gardens
Lights by the Lake invites visitors to explore different stories as they journey through the sprawling grounds of Jurong Lake Gardens.
At Lakeside Field, five scenes recount The Legend of the White Snake, following Bai Suzhen as she assumes human form, meets Xu Xian and experiences love, mistrust and separation. Their story culminates at Cloud Pagoda with a reimagined conclusion centred on forgiveness and harmony.
Chinese Garden turns towards the moon with displays of Chang’e surrounded by lotus flowers and the Jade Rabbit bringing wishes of joy, luck and abundance. Visitors can also expect a light show at Cloud Pagoda, performances at Ficus Lawn and family activities around the Bonsai Garden.
Over at Japanese Garden, Princess Kaguya appears amid flowers, rabbits and drifting clouds. Nearby, illuminated koi glide across Resthouse Pond as symbols of prosperity, resilience and the continuous flow of good fortune.
