Three women confront the fractures within a lifelong friendship as 3 Queens explores sisterhood, faith, betrayal and forgiveness at Wild Rice @ Funan.

Sisters Bedah and Zeina have shared an unbreakable bond with their neighbour Aida since childhood. Their relationship has been built upon laughter, loyalty, secrets and unquestioning trust—but adulthood places that solidarity under immense pressure.

When Zeina leaves her successful company to pursue activism, Bedah abandons a childhood dream for the sake of her family, and Aida becomes personally entangled with both sisters, suspicion and shame begin to fracture their relationship.

Running from 3 to 13 September 2026, 3 Queens is the latest play by Cultural Medallion recipient Haresh Sharma. He co-directs the production with Adib Kosnan for The Necessary Stage.

The bilingual production stars Munah Bagharib, Siti Hajar Gani and Siti Khalijah Zainal. It is performed in English and Malay with English captions at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre inside Wild Rice @ Funan.

3 Queens stands apart from broader September entertainment through the specificity of its characters and concerns. Its central relationship is shaped not only by friendship but also by family expectations, personal sacrifice, activism and faith.

The casting is another considerable strength. Munah Bagharib, Siti Hajar Gani and Siti Khalijah Zainal bring distinct performance backgrounds to a story that depends upon the chemistry and shared history between its three characters.

Its English-and-Malay presentation and extensive use of English captions also reflect an encouraging approach to accessibility in Singapore theatre. Selected performances further provide audio description in English or Malay.

This is firmly an adult theatre production rather than a school-holiday family activity. The show is rated R18, and patrons aged 17 and below will not be admitted.
